Life has never been more unpredictable. What does that mean for education today — and tomorrow?
Children today are living through accelerating changes in technology, demography, and our physical and social environments. The speed and breadth of change will shape their futures in ways that are as profound as they are unpredictable.
For education, then, there can be no such thing as business as usual. There are urgent questions to answer — and many different perspectives to consider. The Yidan Prize Foundation and Arizona State University’s Mary Lou Fulton College for Teaching and Learning Innovation have brought together panels of experts across research, policy, and practice to explore these issues.
They’ll discuss transformative ideas, practical innovations, and pressing questions including:
Why are we hosting this conference?
With a mission to create a better world through education, the Yidan Prize Foundation co-hosts conferences with international organizations and institutions regularly to spotlight changemakers and innovative solutions in education. The Yidan Prize conference series brings together a global community of researchers, education leaders, policymakers, teachers, and learners to exchange ideas and foster collaboration.
This conference also celebrates the achievements of Michelene (Micki) Chi, Regents Professor and Dorothy Bray Endowed Professor of Science and Teaching at ASU Mary Lou Fulton College for Teaching and Learning Innovation. She was awarded the 2023 Yidan Prize for Education Research for her lifetime achievements and her vastly influential and innovative ICAP theory, which helps educators foster a supportive environment for learners to actively participate in the classroom and effectively strengthen learning outcomes as a result.
